In addition to our manufacturing activities we engage with our principals on a range of services including representing them in the Indian market as well as using India as a export base. We have also recently launched export oriented engineering design and detail engineering services.

The Indian Market

India offers a booming domestic market for capital goods. Over the years we have worked with a number of firms in assisting them get orders from the Indian market. Our firm and its principals have represented the following in India:

Shougang, China- technology for manufacturing pig iron & steel
Sket, Germany - rolling mills for steel industry
Lefour Industry Belge, Belgium - furnaces & chemical pre-treatment plants
GCR/ Eurodraw, Italy - plant & machinery for steel wire & wire ropes
Greenbank Terotech Ltd., UK - castbasalt lines pipes & tubes for ash & coal handling

We have represented these firms as licensees, agents or in some cases established joint ventures. Our services for our principals include:

Marketing and sales support
Bid preparation and negotiation for local tenders
Equipment import, fabrication, detail engineering
After sales support and service

India as a Export Base

The growth in the capital goods sector has been fueled by the economies in the Indian Sub-continent, China, Far East, Africa and Middle East. While the market is huge, and is getting increasingly sophisticated, most consumers in the developing world find it hard to pay for capital equipment at American or European prices.

At Vidyut, we have a long list of satisfied clients where we have successfully imported the engineering drawings from international principals, adapted those to local conditions and supplied equipment. This combination of excellent engineering with an Indian cost base gives our clients a very competitive edge.

We have jointly executed a number of projects in the Middle East, China and Far East with our European principals.

Engineering Back Office Services

The increase in orders where we have jointly bid for international projects has led us to establish a Engineering Back Office division. This division focuses of detail engineering for orders our principals receive from India as well as international orders. In future we plan to expand these services to set up dedicated design centers for our clients where they can avail of the excellent quality of Indian engineers and draftsman at a fraction of international costs.
